Once you've taken some time to relax, start on your summer reading and enrichment for St. Andrew's. In addition to this year's all-School read—Transatlantic by Colum McCann—you are asked to read two other books from the required reading list, all of which have been recommended by St. Andrew's faculty. There is no summer homework beyond the required reading, but fun enrichment resources can also found at the above link, if you wish to keep in practice in your favorite subjects for the fall.
2019-20 New Student Info & Forms
As the spring and summer progress, check this page often for new announcements, forms, and the information you need as you prepare to bring your child to St. Andrew's this fall. (We will also email new students and parents with this information and required forms as they become available.)
Please print your Final Transcript Release Form and give it to your school so they will send your final transcript to St. Andrew's.
All students at St. Andrew's are required to bring a laptop computer to school for their academic needs. It is important that each student have a computer that is less than four years old, and we encourage all students to use Apple laptops such as the MacBook Air or MacBook Pro. If you don't already own a laptop that meets one or both of these expectations, you should make plans to purchase one for use at school. For more details on system requirements, insurance options, and answers to frequently asked questions, please see our technology requirements page.
We know we've given you a lot of to-dos, but here are a few things NOT to worry about:
- Don't worry about roommates or packing yet; we will send those details to you in July and August.
- Don't let go of the teachers, friends, and other great relationships you have forged in middle school. Say goodbye and express gratitude with grace. Enjoy every bit of your friends and family and your community this summer—live in the moment. Carpe diem!
- Don't spend all summer on your phone or playing video games. You'll have to get used to living without them at St. Andrew's! Make a plan to be active throughout the summer, and exercise so you are ready for fall sports.
- Don't worry about meeting new people at St. Andrew's. Your big brother or sister, advisor, dorm faculty, and roommate will be in touch with you over the summer.
And don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions as you prepare for St. Andrew's, via email to email@example.com.
In order to attend St. Andrew's, your child must have an annual physical exam and a complete set of Health Forms submitted to the Health Center each year. Your child's physical must have taken place after June 30, 2018, so if his or her last physical occurred before that date, make an appointment with your pediatrician today! Also please note that some Health Forms require the signature of a physician.
Our Health Forms are a two-step process:
Step 1: Please complete this short Google Forms questionnaire ASAP.
Step 2: Please download, print, and complete our Health Forms, and return them to St. Andrew's by June 30. Please note some of these forms require the signature of your child's physician, as required by the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association.
Please our Afternoon Activity Signup Form to select your preferred afternoon sports or activities. Please submit your choices by by May 15. You are not locked into the choices you make today, but your best guesses as to what you might want to participate in will help us ensure coach and director positions are adequately staffed for the coming year.
