Commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2019 will occur on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26.
The celebration begins on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. with a reception at the home of Tad & Elizabeth Roach for graduates and their families. Dinner follows at 7:00 p.m. At 8:30 p.m., we have an Awards Ceremony, about an hour long, in the Sipprelle Field House to celebrate the academic, artistic, and athletic work of the students. The evening concludes with a film tribute to the senior class. On Sunday, we hold a Chapel Service at 10:00 a.m., and Commencement is at 11:00 a.m. on the Front Lawn. Lunch follows the graduation ceremony. Associate Head Will Speers will be our speaker that day.
The traditional dress for Commencement is white dresses for your daughters and white slacks, blue shirts, navy blazers and School ties for your sons. This year’s 50th Reunion class has donated a School tie or a silver SAS cross for each member of the Class of 2019.
We ask you to limit attendance at two of the graduation events. First, for the reception and dinner on Saturday evening, May 25, we ask that you limit attendance to six people, in addition to your son or daughter. For the Chapel service on Sunday morning, May 26, we ask that no more than four guests attend for each graduate. There is no limit for the number of guests at the Awards Ceremony on Saturday evening or at the Commencement exercises and luncheon on Sunday.
We look forward to welcoming you in May. Visit our Getting to Campus page for more info on local accommodations and options for traveling to SAS.
