Will Rehrig
Will grew up only a short distance from St. Andrew’s in Bear, Del., and attended St. Andrew’s as a member of the Class of 2011. While at St. Andrew’s he ran cross-country, was a member of the mock trial team, and served on the Discipline Committee. During his time as a student at St. Andrew’s, he was awarded the Robert T. Jordan Award and the St. Andrew’s Cross.
Will earned his Bachelors of Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware (Newark, Del.) in 2015. While at Delaware he developed a passion for residence life and served as a resident assistant for three years, as well as the president of the National Residence Hall Honorary. He was also heavily involved in the University hosting the National Association of College and University Residence Halls Annual Conference in 2016. Will was recognized as the 2015 Outstanding Undergraduate Student Staff Member by the American College Personnel Association (ACAP) Commission for Housing and Residential Life. Will was a member of Delaware’s Model United Nations team and a member of the HenMUN High School Model United Nations Conference Secretariat.
After graduation Will worked as an assistant shift test engineer, conducting nuclear engineering as a civilian for the Navy at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (Portsmouth, Va.). Will was honored to be a small part of the team that overhauled and modernized Nimitz class aircraft carriers.
In January 2021, Will earned his master's in school leadership from Wilmington University (Dover, Del.). He also ran for their Division II cross-country team which won the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Cross-Country Championship where Will earned All-Conference and All-Academic honors. Will continues to be an avid runner and marathoner, and holds the Delaware 25-29 age group record for the fastest marathon (2:25:33).
Will is thrilled to be at St. Andrew’s, where he can pursue his passions for teaching and learning science, residence life, and running. He has served as Associate Dean of Students, in addition to his current duties, which include teaching chemistry and engineering. Will lives on Baum with his Australian Shepherd, Nahla.
