COVID-19 Protocols for the 2021-22 School Year

Dear St. Andrew's Family,

For the 2021-22 school year, we have developed a set of COVID status levels for the school. We will move from one status level to another as needed, in order to adapt to conditions on our campus and keep students and adults healthy. We will change status based on a combination of indicators related to positive COVID cases on campus and the COVID environment in Delaware. The status levels are red, orange, yellow, and green, and each comes with its own set of progressive mitigation practices.

The school’s COVID monitoring and response group meets early each morning to assess the COVID situation on our campus and in the area, and will decide whether we will continue at the same status level or make a change. Students, faculty, and staff will be informed of any changes on dorm, at breakfast sign-in, and via email.

If you have any questions about our protocols, please do not hesitate to reach out at any time—call 302-285-4240 or email healthcenter@standrews-de.org.

Best,
Annette Rickolt
Director of Health Services

COVID-19 Status Levels

Status Level: Green — Lower Risk

We will be in status level green when the Middletown community is in a CDC zone of “substantial” transmission (or lower) and the school is experiencing unconnected or infrequent on-campus cases of COVID-19 among faculty, staff, or their family members.

*Please note: “up-to-date on vaccines” means having received all available COVID-19 vaccines, including boosters, for which a community member is eligible, given their age, type of vaccine received, and time required between and after shots.

Status Level: Yellow — Moderate Risk

We will be in status level yellow when the Middletown community is in a CDC zone of “substantial” transmission and the school is experiencing on-campus cases of COVID-19, including among students, OR when the Middletown community is in a CDC zone of “high” transmission and the school is experiencing on-campus cases of COVID-19 among faculty, staff, or their family members.

*Please note: “up-to-date on vaccines” means having received all available COVID-19 vaccines, including boosters, for which a community member is eligible, given their age, type of vaccine received, and time required between and after shots.

Status Level: Orange — Moderate Risk

Orange is the same as yellow in most respects, except for the addition of indoor masking for all (students and adults).

Status Level: Red — Higher Risk

We will be in status level red when the Middletown community is in a CDC zone of “high” transmission and the school is experiencing substantial on-campus transmission of COVID-19, including among students.
