The boys and girls swim teams traveled to Newark, Delaware this weekend to compete in the 2020 DIAA championship meet. The boys, placing 16th overall, were led by Andrew Park ’21 and his two impressive performances in the 200 IM and 100 fly. Park placed 10th in the 200 IM and found himself on the podium in the 100 fly, placing 3rd overall with a time 52.66. The 400 free relay team, which was made up of Park, Will Fry ’21, Danny Huang ’22 and Austin Chuang ’23, placed 13th overall.
Elizabeth Rainey ’22 led the girls to an 11th place finish with her outstanding performances in the 50 and 100 free. Rainey came home with a silver medal in the 50 free, placing second overall with a time of 24.35. In the 100 free, Rainey placed 6th overall by touching the wall in 54.06. Emma Hopkins ’23 continued her impressive rookie campaign, finishing 16th in the 100 free and 14th in the 100 back. The Saints team of Rainey, Hopkins, Alyse Ray ’20 and Madison Macalintal ’22 placed 5th in the 200 medley relay.
