Coaches
About Head Coach Jenny Carroll
After three seasons as an assistant coach for the St. Andrew’s girls’ cross-country team, Jennifer Carroll took over the program in 2015. In her first season as head coach, the Saints finished second in the Division II state championship race and third in the New Castle County Championship race. Additionally, Carroll was named 2015 Delaware Girls Cross-Country Coach of the Year.
Coach Carroll works to build off the strong foundation laid by previous Head Coach Wilson Everhart during his tenure with the team. Growing in participation numbers from about ten to now over 30 runners, Coach Carroll seeks to foster a life-long appreciation of running, encourage individual improvement, instill a spirit of support and positivity amongst the team, and develop runners and teams that are competitive at the highest levels. In recent years, Saints runners have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, running for Tufts University, Williams College, the Naval Academy, and Centre College.
During her career at Hamilton College, Carroll was a two-sport varsity athlete, running cross country for two seasons and playing lacrosse for four. In 2004, she was a two-time cross country Rookie of the Week and Performer of the Week for the Liberty League. During her senior year, she captained the 2008 NCAA National Champion lacrosse team and won All-American honors.
Jennifer is a member of the math department, serves as a III Form Dean, and lives in a house near the pond with her husband (and boys soccer head coach) Matt Carroll, their children Finnegan, Teagan, and Jack, and their two dogs, Mick and Maggie.
