The varsity baseball team won in exciting fashion on Friday afternoon, defeating Sanford School 7-6!! Tied 6-6 with 1 out in the bottom of the 7th inning, Matt Lilley ’21 hit a ground ball to the Sanford second baseman and Cristo Butner ’22 was able to score all the way from second to walk it off for the Saints (way to send him Coach Miller)!

Nick Lilley ’21 was tremendous for the Saints, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings, striking out 6 and allowing 0 earned runs. Lilley also helped himself out at the plate, going 2-4 on the afternoon with 2 runs scored. Riley Burroughs ’23 tripled and scored 2 runs for the Saints while Cristo Butner ’22 belted a double. Caden Wood ’21 continued to stay hot, extending his hit-streak to 5 games.

The Saints, now 4-2, will look for win number 5 when they host MOT Charter HS on Monday afternoon. First pitch is set for 4:00 pm.
