Loss 7-29

The Saints traveled to Perkiomen School this past Friday for a matchup between two 4-3 teams. Perkiomen's strong passing game prevailed on the day as the Saints fell 29-7.

Perkiomen got on the board first in the first quarter after a bad snap that the Saints had to fall on in the endzone for a safety. On Perkiomen's ensuing possession, they drove down the field and punched the ball in the endzone to go up 9-0. On the Saints' next possession a Perkiomen player stepped in front of a pass, intercepting the ball and returning it for a touchdown to go up 15-0 as the first quarter came to a close.

Once the second quarter the Saints were able to dig in and hold Perkiomen scoreless in the quarter, but the offense was unable to finish any drives.

The second half opened up with Adrian Watts ’20 returning the kickoff 58 yards to the Perkiomen 28 yard line. After five straight runs Theo Jaffe ’19 capped the drive off with a six yard touchdown run. John McKee ’18's extra point cut Perkiomen's lead to 15-7 early in the third quarter.

However, Perkiomen was able to put together touchdown drives on their next two possessions pushing the lead to 29-7 by the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter saw both teams not being able to put together any scoring drives.

Thomas Cunningham ’20 had a strong day for the Saints on defense with three tackles for a loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. In addition to scoring the lone touchdown on the day, Theo Jaffe led the saints defense with nine tackles on the night.
