Saints Swimming Host DISC Championship

St. Andrew's hosted the five-team Delaware Independent School Conference Championship at the Raymond P. Genereaux Aquatic Center on Saturday afternoon. Keizen Ameriks ’24 and Emma Hopkins ’23 won their individual events while Kieran Bansal ’24 and Lily Auchincloss ’26 brought home medals as well.

In addition, Hopkins, Connie Kang ’26, Christina Ding ’25, and Auchincloss edged out Tower Hill for first place in the girls 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:58.39.

Ameriks recorded a season-best 2:05.98 in the 200 IM, placing second, and swam a personal-best 54.23 in the 100 Back that earned him a gold medal.

Hopkins also won gold in the 100 Back, swimming a season-best 1:01.08. She placed third in the 200 Free with a season-best 2:04.16.

Bansal recorded a pair of third place finishes in the 500 Free (5:20.73, season-best) and the 200 IM (2:12.44, personal-best). Auchincloss also earned two bronze medals in the 50 Free (25.88, season-best) and 100 Back (1:04.35, personal-best).

Overall, the girls team finished third with 52 points behind Tower Hill (128 points) and Wilmington Friends (60 points). The boys team placed fourth with 59 points, with Sanford School (78 points) edging out Wilmington Friends (76 points) for first place.

Other strong swims on the boys' side included a third-place finish for Cooper Drazek ’24 in the 100 Free (51.54, season-best); Andrew Chen ’25 setting a personal-best in the 100 Backstroke (59.01); Zach Macalintal ’24 swimming a 1:00.50 100 Fly (personal-best) and 2:05.29 200 Free (season-best); Austin Chuang ’23 recording a personal-best in the 100 Fly (1:02.82); Will Tower ’26 and Peter Bird ’25 recording personal-bests in the 500 Free, finishing 5th and 6th.

On the girls' side, Yixi Meng ’25 and Ding recorded personal-bests in the 50 Free; Ding placed 4th in the 100 Fly with a personal-best 1:13.87; Kang placed 4th in the 100 Breast; Madeleine Lasell ’25 swam a personal-best 6:23.23 in the 500 Free, placing 6th.
