
Peter Hoopes
Peter returned to his alma mater in 1998 after working in the music production business. During his student years at St. Andrew’s, Peter was active in varsity football, varsity baseball, the winter musical, and the concert choir. He graduated magna cum laude in 1989 and was awarded the Mathematics Prize, the Scott Science Prize, and the Choir Prize.
Peter continued his studies at the College of Wooster, graduating with honors in 1993 with a B.A. in music composition and a mathematics minor. Peter received his M.M. in 1995 from the University of Miami, where he was a teaching assistant in the music media department. His studies focused on using the computer as a compositional tool and producing music for film and television.
Outside of education, Peter collaborates as a screenwriter, filmmaker, editor, and crew member for film projects both on the East Coast and near Chicago. His 2016 short film "The Weak Force" has shown at film festivals throughout the Midwest.
In his spare time, Peter enjoys tennis and writing and producing films and music. Peter lives with his wife, Sarah, and his daughters, Ingrid ’20, Sophie ‘22, and Claire ’26, in nearby Middletown.
