Tuition & Financial Aid

Lorem Ipsum Dolor

St. Andrew’s is affordable to all students who are qualified for admission, regardless of how much they can pay.

In 1929, our founder envisioned a different kind of boarding school—a school with the highest aspirations and standards, open to the hardest-working, most promising students, regardless of their family's ability to pay. We meet 100% of a family's demonstrated financial need for all admitted students. Our financial aid program and commitment to socioeconomic diversity is the core of who we are: socioeconomic diversity drives our mission, our community, and our culture of inclusion, joy, and authentic human connection. We believe in something bigger than ourselves.

NEW: All families with a combined household income under $150,000 may attend St. Andrew's free of cost.
A full application must be submitted and students must be offered admission. Contact us for more information

Financial Aid Application Instructions & Notes

Our financial aid application is Clarity, a comprehensive online tool that collects information and estimates the amount that your family can pay. Once you complete your application, Clarity will send it to St. Andrew's. We will review it and use it to formulate your grant if you qualify for need-based financial aid. Financial aid grants will be included with your offer of admission or with your re-enrollment contract each year.  If you decide to apply for financial aid, please carefully review St. Andrew's financial aid faqs, policies, and guidelines.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

Clarity opens each year in AugustĀ for the following year's enrollment. To begin your financial aid application, please follow these steps:

Step 1

Visit https://auth.clarityapp.com/en/signup/ If you are a first-time user, you will create an account. If you applied for financial aid in the previous school year, login as a returning family using your prior credentials.

Step 2

Begin your application. You can log out at any time and return later to complete the form.

Step 3

Submit your complete application and add "St. Andrew's School (DE)" as a recipient. Note that there are several schools called St. Andrew's, and we will only receive applications sent to St. Andrew's School (DE). Our Clarity code is 8579.

Step 4

For most families, Clarity will pull all required tax documentation after you sign the 4506-T form in the application. In certain circumstances, you will be prompted to upload additional documentation. Any additional requirements may be found in the "Documents" tab in your Clarity portal.

  • Families with business interests (S-Corp, C-Corp, or Partnerships), will be prompted to upload documentation pertaining to their business(es). Please include all required documentation.
  • If you do not reside in the USA or file a US tax return, or if you are a single parent with no contact with the child’s biological second parent, we will contact you for further information and documentation.
  • Your family's financial aid award is contingent on the submission and verification of all materials above. The financial aid committee will contact you if more information is required.

Financial Aid Decision Timelines

Financial aid decisions and award letters are mailed with student enrollment contracts. If your child’s financial aid application is not complete by January 15, and we have not heard from you regarding a request for an extension, both funding and your child’s space at St. Andrew’s may be at risk.

For new students:

  • Financial Aid applications and supporting documents are due by January 15.
  • Admission and financial aid decision letters are sent on March 10th.
  • To reserve your child's space at St. Andrew's and accept your financial aid package, you must return the enrollment contract and deposit to St. Andrew's by April 10th.
  • Tax returns for the prior year are due by May 15. If your returns reflect a significant difference from the information shared in your financial aid application, your award may be subject to change.

For returning students:

  • Financial Aid applications and supporting documents are due by December 1.
  • Re-enrollment contracts and financial aid decisions are sent in Mid-February.
  • To confirm your child's re-enrollment at St. Andrew's, parents must return the signed enrollment contract and deposit during the first week of March.
  • Tax returns for the prior year are due by May 15. If your returns reflect a significant difference from the information shared in your financial aid application, your award may be subject to change.

As always, please call or e-mail the Admission Office, at 302-285-4231 or finaid@standrews-de.org, if you have questions regarding financial aid.
