International Student Admission

No, we do not offer an ESL program. Students must demonstrate fluency in English in their interview and on the TOEFL in order to be considered for admission.

Students for whom English is a second language who do not study in an English language school must take the TOEFL or the IELTS. You do not need to take one of these tests if English is your native language OR if you study in an international/American school where English is the primary language of instruction.

First, fill out our information request form to join our mailing list and be registered in our database. This form must be submitted before you schedule a campus visit.

Next, call the Admission Office at +1 302-285-4231, or email admissions@standrews-de.org to schedule your visit. We host candidates and their families on most days that school is in session. We also offer virtual appointments. Please note that applicants from Mainland China must submit an interview through Vericant if they are not able to visit in person.

St. Andrew's does not employ a minimum score cutoff in its admissions evaluations. We consider the whole application, including grades, scores, recommendations, essays and the interview. However, over the last ten years, successful international applicants have typically scored above the 90th percentile on the SSAT and above 110 on the TOEFL.

St. Andrew's does not employ international admission quotas. We will accept strong and qualified applicants from the broadest possible diversity of backgrounds.

Limited need-based financial aid is available to international students - typically no more than 50%. For more information, visit our Tuition and Financial Aid pages.

We conduct limited international travel for recruitment. Many international applicants come to our campus to meet our community and see our facilities, but a visit to campus is certainly not required. If you are not able to make an admissions visit to campus, we offer virtual tours and interviews; click here for more information.

No. We accept applications for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade admission, fall enrollment only.
