How to Apply
Each year, applications for the following fall are due by January 15. Admissions decisions are sent on March 10. After January 15, we accept applications to our wait list, which we review as space becomes available.
We are excited to get to know you through the application process. Our favorite essays tell a real, human story. We believe in progress, not perfection—don't strive to write the perfect essay, just write your essay.

How to Apply to St. Andrew's
Step 1: Complete Our Inquiry FormComplete our inquiry form. This form must be submitted for us to arrange your visit and send you additional information about St. Andrew's.

Step 2: Meet us for Your Tour & InterviewWe offer guided tours and interviews, in-person and virtually, throughout the fall and winter (and preview tours throughout the year). We recommend scheduling your visit early. We have a limited number of openings. Please call 302-285-4231 or email admissions@standrews-de.org to schedule your visit.

Step 3: Apply Online by January 15St. Andrew's School accepts the Standard Application Online (SAO) application and the Gateway to Prep Schools application. We do not have a preference for which application you use. Please do NOT submit both applications, however, as this may cause your application to be deleted from our system.

Step 4: Submit Your FormsSubmit recommendations, transcripts, and optional forms between December 1 and January 31. Your complete application must include recommendation forms from your current English and math teachers, as well as a school administrator. You may send these forms electronically through your application portal. We also welcome supplemental recommendations from other adults. Please ask your recommender to email the recommendation to admissions@standrews-de.org.

Step 5: Take a Standardized Test & Submit Your ScoresStandardized testing is just one component of our holistic application review process that includes transcripts, the interview, recommendations, essays, and extracurricular activities. Together, these pieces illustrate the most complete picture of an applicant's potential to thrive at St. Andrew's. All applicants must submit standardized testing in support of their applications. Please submit ONE of the following: If English is your second language and you do not study in a school where English is the primary language of instruction, we require ONE of the following language tests:

Step 6: Apply for Financial AidIf your family is unable to afford full tuition, St. Andrew's School guarantees it will meet 100% of demonstrated need with grants. Please visit our financial aid page for instructions and to submit your financial aid application by January 15th.

Step 7: Keep in Touch With St. Andrew's!Completed application files are reviewed by the Admission Committee throughout January and February. For applications completed by January 31, decisions are mailed by March 10, and accepted students must confirm enrollment by April 10.
