MS, Lehigh University
Kristin Honsel is a native of the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. After earning her undergraduate degree in elementary education from Penn State University in 1994, Kristin began her career in education in conjunction with earning her Master’s degree in Educational Technology from Lehigh University. Her first nine years were spent as an elementary classroom teacher in both public and private schools in Pennsylvania. Upon moving to Los Angeles, she worked as an integrated technology specialist in a K-8 school.
After having her daughter Zoey, Kristin and her family moved back east where she began her boarding school career by running a girls’ dorm and advising students. For the past seven years, Kristin has been working in Admissions and has enjoyed teaching a community living and health class. She also continues her work as a student advisor and dorm faculty member.
Kristin is consistently drawn towards opportunities to serve others and help the environment and she is excited to be at St. Andrew’s where the commitment to both is clear. She is dedicated to supporting the students in their community outreach experiences as well as in their work as environmental stewards. One of her favorite initiatives is leading the community in their end of year, green, clean-up initiative, Project Zero, that aims to repurpose, recycle, and reuse all of their end of year donations.
Kristin lives on campus with her husband Jason, Director of College Counseling, their daughter, Zoey, and their loyal hound, Ellie May.
