Mr. Matthew "Matt" Evan Wolinski
Matt is a native of Middletown and a class of 2000 graduate from St. Andrew’s School. After St. Andrew’s, he attended Georgetown University in Washington D.C. and graduated Magna cum Laude with a bachelors in Government and minors in Music and Theology. He has completed graduate work at Villanova University and the Klingenstein Center at Columbia University.
After college, Matt worked for two years as a paralegal specializing in insurance litigation before beginning a career in education at Sidwell Friends School in Washington DC, working in the Alumni and Development Office. Eventually, he returned to his hometown and taught at St. Anne’s Episcopal School for six years, specializing in middle school religion and social studies and teaching many future St. Andreans.
Throughout the years, Matt remained active as a St. Andrew’s alumnus, rising to Vice-President of the Alumni Association and serving as class agent. One fateful day, St. Andrew’s Director of Admission Louisa Zendt called him to discuss an applicant. He was fascinated by the process and profession of admissions. Shortly after, Matt learned that a position was open in the office. He became Associate Director of Admission in 2011.
Since returning to St. Andrew’s, Matt has coached crew and soccer, taught history, served on the Land Use Task Force and been an advisor in addition to growing admissions responsibilities. He became Director of Admission and Financial Aid in 2016.
Matt cares deeply about land conservation and is involved in several organizations dedicated to maintaining wild spaces in central Delaware. In his free time, he enjoys hiking the trails of St. Andrew’s, cooking over an open flame, sustainable agriculture, competitive bocce, and bluegrass music.
Matt lives in Middletown with his his wife, Michelle, and their daughters, Julia and Claire.
