A native New Yorker, Peter graduated from St. Andrew’s in 2011. Peter shared his St. Andrew’s experience with his brother, Jack ’13, and was the captain of the swim team. Peter’s time at St. Andrew’s and mentorship under Chiachyi Chiu encouraged his love for the Chinese language and culture.

In 2015, Peter graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, ME. At Bates, Peter was a member of the swim team where he was a NESCAC All-Academic Athlete and an inductee into the Bates Scholar Athlete Society. He also received the Albion Morse Stevens Prize for Excellence in Foreign Language. Having studied abroad at Fudan University, Peter was inspired to return to Shanghai, China after graduation.

Peter traveled to Shanghai as a Princeton in Asia fellow. He worked as a Year 6 and 7 Language Arts teacher at the YK Pao School, a bilingual boarding school. There, Peter coached swimming and was a dorm parent for Year 6, 7, and 8 boys.

At St. Andrew’s, Peter is a Chinese teacher, an assistant coach for cross-country and swimming, a dorm affiliate for freshmen boys, and an advisor to the LGBTQIA+ affinity group. He lives in Hillier where he enjoys replicating his favorite Chinese dishes, sometimes with mixed results.
