Campus Visit Policies

St. Andrew’s strives to welcome guests while prioritizing the safety and security of our on-campus community. We ask that all visitors—except parents of current students—schedule visits to campus. Prospective students and families can schedule campus visits through the Admission Office here; alumni and alumni parents can schedule a visit through the Alumni Office via email (alum@standrews-de.org) or phone (302-285-4360). When you arrive on campus, you will sign in with a member of the campus security team at the Welcome Center—a small white building on the right as you come up the Main Drive. Unscheduled visitors will be asked to wait at the Welcome Center until a member of Alumni or Admission Office can be contacted to greet you.

If you are a current parent, you are always welcome on campus. Upon arrival, please check in with a member of the campus security team at the Welcome Center on the Main Drive.

Athletic competitions are open to all. If you wish to visit campus as an athletics spectator, the campus security team at the Welcome Center on the Main Drive will direct you to the appropriate parking location on campus.

If you are a visiting crew team, do not proceed through the main entrance to campus and up the Main Drive. Instead, proceed on Noxontown Road, around the curve and over the small bridge. Use the second entrance on the right to turn into the gated Rodney Point picnic grounds.

How to Get to Campus

Occasionally, entering this address into a maps/GPS app will send you to a “back gate” of our (very large) campus. If you are attempting to navigate to campus and think your GPS may have sent you to someplace in error, try this alternative address: 350 Noxontown Road, Townsend, DE 19734.

Written Directions to Campus

From Philadelphia & Points North

Take I-95 South into Delaware. If you are coming from New York City, you will enter Delaware going over the I-295 Delaware Memorial Bridge. Continue on I-95 South towards Baltimore. Exit at 4-A (sign to Christiana Mall) and follow signs to Route 1 South. Stay on Rte. 1 going over the bridge with the yellow arches and continue through the tollbooth (tolls vary; expect to pay up to $4). Remain on Rte. 1 South until Rte. 299 (Middletown/Odessa Exit). Take a right onto Rte. 299 towards Middletown. At the fourth light, turn left onto Silver Lake Road. Proceed until it ends at Noxontown Road. Cross Noxontown Road and enter St. Andrew's campus through the stone pillars.

From Washington, D.C.

Go east on Route 50 over the Bay Bridge until it intersects with Rte. 301. (Middletown is approximately one hour from the Bay Bridge). Continue on 301 North into Delaware. Take Exit 2 for Rte. 299/S. Middletown/Townsend. Take a right at the end of the exit ramp, proceed toward the first traffic light, then take a left onto Rte. 299. At the third stoplight (there will be a Wawa on the corner), take a right onto Main Street. After about half a mile, take a right onto S. Broad St./DE-71. Proceed on 71 for about a mile and a half, then take a left onto Noxontown Road (your first left after the Cricklewood Shopping Plaza). St. Andrew's main entrance will be on your right after about a third of a mile, just across from the intersection with Silver Lake Road.

From Baltimore & Points South

Take I-95 North to the Delaware state line. About one mile after tollbooth, exit onto Route 896 South; continue on Rte. 896 for 10 miles, until you come to a traffic light where the road becomes Rte. 301/71. (Do not turn left where sign points 896 to Rte. 13.) Continue through the traffic light for three miles to the next light. Immediately after a small shopping plaza with a Dunkin Donuts, bear to the left at the traffic light. Go left across railroad tracks until you reach the third traffic light in the center of town. Turn left onto Main Street (Rte. 299 East). At the third light, take a right onto Silver Lake Road. Proceed until it ends at Noxontown Road. Cross Noxontown Road and enter through the stone pillars.
