On Monday, January 29, St. Andrew's football seniors Jarred St. John '18 and Will Weaver '18 were honored at the Delaware Interscholastic Football Coaches Association (DIFCA) Banquet in Dover, Delaware.

Will Weaver was St. Andrew's recipient of the DIFCA Sportsmanship Award, which is given to one player on each team in the state of Delaware who shows and demonstrates great respect for competitors, school, teammates and coaches. The recipients must also show the ability to accept victory and defeat graciously, convey a high degree of humility and integrity, and demonstrate commitment in the classroom. After being the Saints feature runningback as junior, Weaver served as a captain for the team in his senior season. During his senior year, Weaver was a key component to the special teams units while also taking some carries on offense. He is the true definition of a teammate and will do whatever it takes to help the team.

Jarred St. John received the DIFCA Mini Maxwell Award, which is given to players throughout the state who are nominated by their coaches for the Maxwell Award as Player of the Year in the state of Delaware. St. John had a dominant senior year on both sides of the ball, and was named First Team All-Conference at both fullback and defensive tackle. On offense he led the team with 672 yards rushing and nine touchdowns. He also completed his only pass attempt on the year for a touchdown. On defense he added two more touchdowns while recording 17 tackles for loss, three sacks, six forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.

Both Weaver and St. John were cornerstones of the football program and have helped greatly getting the program back on track. Their leadership and commitment to the program played a huge part in leading the football team to their notching their most wins this year since the 2012 season.
