Saints Stand Out at DELMUN Conference
Liz Torrey

In December, St. Andrew's Model UN Club traveled to Salesianum School in Wilmington to participate in the Delaware Model United Nations Conference (DELMUN). The oldest conference in Delaware, DELMUN is entirely student-run and "has a rich history of vigorous debate and an emphasis on deepening students' understanding of the complexities of the modern world" (per the Salesianum website).

The following St. Andrew's students received awards at the close of the one-day conference:

Outstanding Delegates
Lois Lee '22 and Domenica Iturralde '22 representing Vietnam in the Economic and Social Council
Piper Jackman '21 and Pearl Mallick '22 representing Bulgaria in the General Assembly
Griffin Pitt '21 and Pranay Sanwal '22 representing Denmark in United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)

Honorable Mention Delegates
Sonal Bhatia '22 representing Condoleezza Rice in Ad-Hoc Committee
Arvin Vanikar '21 representing Steve Dowling in Apple, Inc.

"It was an outstanding performance by our entire SASMUN team," noted faculty advisor Will Rehrig.
