Saints Earn 2nd at DISC Meet!

The boys and girls swim teams competed in the DISC Tournament on Saturday afternoon, each placing second overall with a total of 61 points. For the boys, Andrew Park ’21 led the way as he finished first overall in the 100 yard butterfly and beat his own school record with the strong time of 51.97. Park also placed third overall in the 200 IM and will compete in both events at the state tournament. Danny Huang ’22 came home with two bronze medals in the 50 and 100 free, easily qualifying for states in each.  Liam Hurtt ’22 qualified for States in the 50 free by touching the wall in 25.33 while Austin Chuang ’23 qualified in the 100 fly. On the girls side, Elizabeth Rainey ’22 continued to prove herself as one of the top swimmers in the Independent Conference. Rainey set school records in the 50 and 100 free, taking home first place in the 50 and second place in the 100. Madison Macalintal ’22 earned bronze in the 100 fly and 100 back. Alyse Ray ’20 swam to a fifth place finish in the 100 breast and an eighth place finish in the 50 free, qualifying for states in both events. Katie Macalintal ’20 finished two spots behind her sister in the 100 fly, qualifying for states with her time of 1:09.72.

The Saints will host Salesianum School and Ursuline Academy on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. before they begin their preparation for the state tournament. Go Saints!
