Mercedes joined the St. Andrew’s Board of Trustees in 2018. She received an M.B.A. in International Luxury Brand Management from Essec Business School and a B.A. in Political Science from Sewanee.

Mercedes joined Cartier North America in 2008, and in June 2014 she became the Chief Executive Officer and President of Cartier North America. She is the first woman and first American to hold the position. She oversees the marketing, strategy, and operations in North America including 35 boutiques, an e-commerce boutique, and over 150 specialty retailers. Prior to joining Cartier, she held management positions with Tiffany & Co., and the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company.

Mercedes serves on the advisory board of the Luxury Education Foundation. Her husband Matthew runs his own project management firm.

Mercedes and Matthew are parents to Graham ’22 and recent graduate Quentin ’18.
