Jennifer grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from Dartmouth College. She worked for nearly ten years in advertising before attending New York University, where she studied cognitive psychology and received a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology. Jennifer has been active in non-profit organizations focused on education, land conservation and mental health. She is a member of the Board of the Roundabout Theatre Company, the largest non-profit theater company in the country, and serves on the Education Committee there. Jennifer is a member of the Board of the Adirondack Mountain Reserve/Ausable Club in upstate New York. She also recently served as Chair of the Bronxville School Foundation Board.

Jennifer is married to Owen Thomas, who is the CEO of Boston Properties. They have three children: Hank, Martha, and Mae ’22. They live in Bronxville, New York.
