St. Andrew’s School is seeking a full-time facilities care technician (40 hours a week), year-round with extra hours on a periodic basis. Nights and weekends may be required on occasion. New employees are eligible for benefits upon hire including but not limited to, health, dental, vision, school matched 403b for retirement purposes, and competitive salary. Employees in this position are eligible for overtime payment. This position is critical to the success of the school by completing maintenance orders, maintaining cleanliness in dorms, classrooms, eating areas, office buildings, and other areas on campus.
Job Responsibilities
- Variety of cleaning tasks, including but not limited to, cleaning/sanitizing bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning screens and windows, gathering and removing trash, sweeping and mopping floors
- Working independently or assisting other facilities care technicians as assigned
- Assisting in setting up for special events, which include moving tables, chairs, and furniture
- During summer breaks, work involves cleaning dorms and faculty apartments, which may include cleaning refrigerators, ovens, shampooing carpets, and scrubbing tubs and showers
Job Requirements
- Self-motivated, able to follow directions, and work with little to no supervision
- Ability to move furniture and lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to withstand sustained stooping, bending, lifting, and able to climb/work on ladders
- Ability to work well with others as a team player; pleasant personality essential
- Ability to operate cleaning machines
- Prior housekeeping experience is preferred, but not required
