Kent is a Co-Founder and Senior Partner of Turnbridge Capital LLC (“Turnbridge”), a private equity investment firm based in Dallas, Texas. The firm was established in January 2004 to make control equity investments in private middle-market operating companies, where Turnbridge can be a strategic capital partner for management teams and assist them in the execution of growth strategies for their businesses. The majority of the investment opportunities pursued by Turnbridge are in companies providing services and equipment to the energy, power, and infrastructure sectors, which includes the upstream (exploration and production), midstream (gathering, processing and transportation), and downstream (refining and petrochemical) segments of the oil and gas industry.
Prior to founding Turnbridge, Kent was with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) and its successor firm, Credit Suisse First Boston, from 1984 to 2002. In 1994, Kent became Co-Head of the DLJ Global Energy and Power Group, a position he held until 2000. In addition to traditional corporate finance work, Kent was also involved in DLJ’s principal investing activities, including its equity investments in Seven-Up Company, Dr Pepper/Seven-Up Companies, Dr Pepper Bottling Company of Texas, and W-H Energy Services.
Kent serves on the Board of Directors of DeBusk Services Group, and Impact Selector International, LLC. Kent is a graduate of Duke University (B.A.), Southern Methodist University School of Law (J.D.) and the Darden School of the University of Virginia (M.B.A.). Kent served as Chair of the Board 2013-2016; as Board President 2003-2013; and as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee 1998-2003. He was elected to the Board of Trustees in 1990.
