Why did you come to St. Andrew's? Why do you stay here?
Initially, I did not think St. Andrew's was the place for me. The campus was impressive, and Mr. Roach seemed like a nice guy, but I dreaded having to leave my home for extended periods of time. The first time I visited Founders Hall, I made up my mind that after the first night I would feel homesick and melancholy and would desire to leave St. Andrew's for good. But after about three weeks into my freshman year, I knew St. Andrew's was the place for me. Now, after three years and two months, I doubt I will ever think about leaving a place that I have learned to call home.
The faculty assumed the role of my parents, never ceasing to lend support in anyway possible, always willing to talk about anything at anytime. My friends are constant sources of joy and laughs, never failing to brighten up my day. I have formed lifelong relationships with many thanks to St. Andrew's—relationships so close that I dread leaving this place for a long period of time, something I will have to cope with at the end of this year. I came to St. Andrew's because of the togetherness, trust and love of this community that I saw nowhere else. I stay here because nothing has changed, and I would find it incredibly unintelligent if I left a place where I felt happy and, most of all, at home.
