Posted July 6, 2012
Eric Boateng '05 continues to represent St. Andrew's well. His dream of being an Olympian came true this summer as he was selected to play for Great Britain at this summer's Olympic Games. The 6'10" power forward is playing on home soil this month in a pool that includes China, Brazil, Spain and Australia. "This is an incredible honor which so many people have helped me get to," said Eric. "I am practising rigorously and keeping the faith that things will work out well for us."
Eric has played on Great Britain's National Team since 2006 and was a McDonald's All-American at St. Andrew's. He graduated from Arizona State University with a B.A. in Global Studies. He led the PAC-10 in shooting percentage (66.5%) his senior year that tied him with Bill Walton for eighth all-time in the PAC-10. Eric's 64.4% career field goal pecentage also is an ASU record.
Congratulations, Eric! We are so proud of you!
