Service Trip to South Africa Heads Into Week Two
Posted June 13, 2012
Students, faculty and alumni are currently traveling through South Africa as part of a two-week service trip. They spent part of their first week in Kruger National Park and now head to Cape Town where they will help build a house for a family in need with the Niall Mellon Township Trust — a leading non-profit that has helped house over 100,000 people since its inception.
Bill Cashion is blogging about the trip on the School blog, Noxontown Notes, found here.
Faculty member Joleen Hyde, who originally hails from South Africa, is leading the biennial trip along that has become a St. Andrew's tradition over the last twenty years.
The trip members share a kindred spirit with St. Andrew's students and faculty currently building a latrine at a school in Haiti and the many more we are proud of for giving back this summer.
