Posted May 2, 2012

Colleagues, friends and family were on hand this past week to congratulate and honor Mike Schuller upon receiving the John R. Batley Award for Distinguished Service from the Pennsylvania Area Independent Schools Business Office Association (PAISBOA).

Mike has infused his spirit and energy into the School and greater community since coming to St. Andrew’s in 1998. In addition to his many contributions to St. Andrew’s, Mike has been a ready colleague for his counterparts at other schools and a driving force behind local food initiatives he helped execute through PAISBOA. Mike was joined at the ceremony held in Philadelphia by former C.F.O. John Dzik, colleagues Lisa Henson and Barb Wilson, his wife, Candy, and youngest daughter, Casey. As always, he was quick to thank others for the honor: “This is all about team: home, school, and colleagues.”

Headmaster Tad Roach was thrilled to see Mike honored by his peers. “As the C.F.O. and now Director of Strategic Planning Mike has used his brilliant business and finance background to help enable St. Andrew’s to develop sound financial sustainability strategies. As a colleague, friend, parent and grandparent, Mike brings a zest for life, for service, and for community that inspires us all. We are ecstatic that PAISBOA has honored Mike with this distinguished award.”

PAISBOA is made up of 160 universities, colleges, and day and boarding schools throughout the region. The award includes a $1,500 gift to St. Andrew’s in Mike’s honor.
