Girls JV Lacrosse Scores Come From Behind Victory Over Tower Hill (Girls JV Lacrosse)
Posted April 20, 2012
In an incredible come from behind fight, the Saints traveled to Tower Hill on Thursday and beat them by a decisive 10-6 margin. Tower Hill came out in the first half ready to play, blowing open a convincing 3-0 lead. Then the Saints began to connect. Izzy Oppenheimer drew first blood and then Emma Richardson followed suit. Tower answered and then Oppenheimer notched one more and it was locked at 4-3 at the half. With the underdog mentality, the Saints, anchored by Ellen Copper in net who had 3 saves, fought back. Oppenheimer and Richardson each ended up scoring four goals on the day, while Charlotte Bristow and Kirstin Anderson each had one. The defensive unit of Z Wilson, Michelle Kim, Tiara Milner, Karley Nikoi and Bre Pierce had a huge day and Morgan Ricketts, Mollie Gillespie and Melina Jorrizo dominated the midfield. The Saints will look to ride this victory into their upcoming battle against Cape Henlopen next Saturday.
