Remembering Rev. Canon P. Simon Mein
Posted February 24, 2012
Members of the St. Andrew's community, the Diocese of Delaware and friends and loved ones from around the world gathered to celebrate the life of Simon Mein on February 23, 2012 in the A. Felix duPont Memorial Chapel.
The service was marked by contributions from generations of the St. Andrew's family. The Choral Scholars sang beautifully led by Nathan Costa who also served as organist. Tad Roach provided a moving Eulogy highlighting Simon's gifts as a teacher, mentor, progressive thinker. You can download and read Tad's tribute under the "Related Files" section of this page. Rev. Mark Harris followed the Eulogy by offering a wonderful poem entitled, "He Wore Existence." Bishop Wayne Wright gave a beautiful Homily. Readings were offered from Gretchen Hurtt '90 and Louisa Zendt '78. Former St. Andrew's Chaplain Karl Kunz read the Gospel. The service was led and organized by Chaplains Dave DeSalvo, Jay Hutchinson and former Chaplain Louise Howlett.
You can listen to the entire service via the .mp3 file under the "Related Files" section of this page.
