Senior Co-Captain Jake Myers Breaks 34-Year Old Tackles Record, Varsity Football Enjoys Six Game Winning Streak (Boys Varsity Football)

Posted November 8, 2011

Since 1977, Garrett Hart ’78 has held the record for most tackles in a football season with 110. With eleven tackles in a recent game against Wilmington Friends, Senior Co-Captain Jake Myers ’12 eclipsed Garrett’s 34-year record bringing his season total to 116. Jake has played inspiring football on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball in helping lead the Saints to their current six-game winning streak.

True to form, Garrett has already spoken with Jake to congratulate him and each made it a point to credit their teammates. Congratulations to Jake and the entire 2011 football team.

The Saints end their season on Fall Alumni Day, Saturday, November 12, against Tatnall in the Cannon Game. Garrett Hart has invited members of the 1977 football team to join him on the field to congratulate Jake and the team in person while cheering them on to bring back the Cannon (which, by the way, the 1977 team won).

We invite everyone in the St. Andrew's community to come back to campus this Saturday, November 12 and share in this great event.
