Boys Varsity Soccer Finishes Regular Season 13-1-1, Earns #5 Seed in State Tournament
Posted November 6, 2011
With a 2-0 win over Tower Hill School this past Tuesday, the St. Andrew’s varsity boys’ soccer team completed an exciting regular season with a 13-1-1 record, a Delaware Independent Schools Conference Championship and a berth in the State Championship Tournament. The team went undefeated in conference play (7-0-1), a record achieved only four other times in School history (1982, 1995, 1996 and 2000).
St. Andrew’s will begin play in the Delaware State Tournament as a #5 seed against #12 seed Sussex Tech (9-5-1) on Tuesday at 6pm at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes. You can find the full tournament bracket and schedule via DelawareOnline.com. St. Andrew’s won the State title in boys’ soccer in 1981 and finished second in 1984.

First year Head Coach, Jory Kahan, and Coach Jay Hutchinson have done a masterful job with the boys this year in leading them to this historic season. They would be quick to point out that the team's goals remain larger and we hope you can be there in person or in spirit to cheer them along the way. If you would like to send a quick note, anecdote or word of encouragement to the boys, please email Coach Kahan at jkahan@standrews-de.org.
We will be "live tweeting" the action from our Twitter account @SASDelaware. (Note: you do not need to sign up on Twitter to view the updates.) If the boys win on Tuesday we will continue to post updates and information on the St. Andrew's homepage.
