Welcome to the application process for admission to St. Andrew's! Please review the required components of our application process below. We look forward to meeting you.

How to Apply to St. Andrew's

1. Complete the information request form to join our mailing list and be registered on our database. This form must be submitted in order for us to arrange your virtual visit.
    
2. Meet us for your tour and interview!
   We offer guided tours and interviews, both in-person and via Google Meet, throughout the fall and winter. Call 302-285-4231 to schedule your visit today.
    
3. (Optional) Register for and take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT), and request that your scores be reported to St. Andrew's School (DE); our reporting code is 6280. Please note that because of the pandemic, the SSAT is optional for the current admissions cycle. You are welcome to submit scores, but your application will not be penalized if you do not. 
   • If English is your second language AND you do not study in at a school where English is the primary language of instruction, we require ONE of the following language tests:
     • Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Our TOEFL reporting code is #8146.
     • International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
        
4. Apply online by January 15.
   The St. Andrew's Online Application Portal will allow you to complete and track all parts of your application. We also accept the Standard Application Online (SAO). Don't worry about which to choose; we do not have a preference for which application form you use and offer both options as a convenience for you. Please do NOT submit both applications.
    
5. Submit recommendations, transcripts, and optional forms between December 1 and January 31.
   Your complete application includes recommendation forms from your current English and math teachers, as well as your principal or counselor. You may send these forms electronically through your application portal after you have submitted your application (which is due on January 15). If you would like to request your recommendations from your teachers before you submit your application, please complete this form after December 1. 
   
   We welcome supplemental recommendations from other teachers or other adults, especially if the pandemic has disrupted your ability to get to know your current teachers. English and math teachers may use the appropriate PDF recommendation forms; others should write a letter of recommendation. Please ask your recommender to email the completed form or letter to admissions@standrews-de.org.
   
   Finally, if your school requires you to use paper or PDF recommendation forms, printable versions of all forms can be found here.
    
6. Submit optional arts and athletics interest forms.
   You may also want to submit an optional form detailing your special interest in athletics or the arts. These forms are not required, but are helpful for students with significant experience in these areas.
    
7. Keep in touch with St. Andrew's!
   Completed application files are reviewed by the Admission Committee during January and February. For applications completed by January 31, decisions are mailed by March 10, and accepted students must confirm their enrollment by April 10.
