St. Andrew's fielded its first baseball team in the spring of 1931 coached by Walden Pell, the Headmaster. Baseball was the first spring sport at St. Andrew's School. The Cardinals won DIAL Championships in 1935 and 1936 and were IAC Champions in 1950 and 1957. Since 1957 when the DISC, Delaware Independent Schools Conference, was founded, St. Andrew's has won or tied for eight championships - 1964, 1976, 1977, 1988, 1993, 1995, 2002, and 2003. The team was invited to the Delaware State Tournament in 1993, 2002, and 2003. The coaching staff teaches the fundamental skills for players to compete at a competitive level in addition to preparing them to play at the college level. Focus is on individual improvement, team play, and good sportsmanship. Recent graduates have continued playing at a number Division III colleges including Dickinson, Haverford, Swarthmore, Sewanee, and Washington Colleges.

Hall of Fame Coach Bob Colburn will begin his 51st season in 2012.
