The St. Andrew’s varsity girls basketball team visited Wilmington Christian on Tuesday afternoon to open their 2017-18 campaign. Down 20-7 at the half, the Saints were unable to mount a comeback in the second half against their conference opponent, and ultimately, dropped the contest by a final score of 33-17. Leandre Pestcoe ’19 tallied a team high seven points, making three field goals and one free throw. Noor El-Baradie ’19 chipped in six of her own points while Kate Paris ’19 and newcomer Nia Cross ’21 each added two points.
The Saints will look for their first win of the year on Saturday afternoon as they play host to Delaware Design-Lab High school. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
