seventh place finish as a team (out of 29 teams)

The St. Andrew’s girls cross-country team participated in the New Castle County Championship on Saturday afternoon, competing against 29 schools from across the state of Delaware. Leading the Saints to their seventh place finish was Emma Tapscott ’18, who came in 23rd place with an impressive time of 20:33. Right on her heels was Charlotte Gehrs ’20, clocking in at 21:00 for a 32nd place finish. Captain Elisa Davila ’18 was next for the Saints, crossing the finish line in 21:28 and placing 39th overall. Rounding out the top five runners for St. Andrew’s were Ann Yancey Bassett ’19 and Captain Alex Hopkins ’18 finishing the race with times of 22:06 and 22:46.

The Saints will spend this next week preparing for their final test, the DIAA Division II state championship held at Killens Pond State park. The race is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
