The St. Andrew’s girls cross-country team traveled to the Tatnall School for the DISC meet on Wednesday afternoon, competing against Tatnall, Wilmington Friends and Tower Hill. The Saints, racing to a second place finish, had four runners place in the top 12. Emma Tapscott ’18 led the way for Saints as she has all year, placing seventh in the meet with an impressive time of 21:24. Next in line for the Saints was Elisa Davila ’18, who finished in 21:51 which was good enough for 10th overall. Right on her heels were Charlotte Gehrs ’20 and Ann Yancey Bassett ’19, placing 11th and 12th in the meet with times of 22:11 and 22:52. Rounding out the remaining three varsity runners were Alex Hopkins ’18, Leandre Pestcoe ’19 and Bryer Wood ’20 who placed 15th, 18th and 20th respectively.
The Saints look forward to competing in the New Castle County Championships on Saturday afternoon. JV begins at 2:30 p.m. while varsity will start at 3:30 p.m.
