In the five versus six-rank matchup in the DISC volleyball tournament, the Saints played host to Sanford School on Tuesday afternoon. Dropping the first game 25-17, the Saints fought their way back and won by scores of 25-21 and 25-23 in games two and three. Sanford, on the verge of elimination, took game four by a final score of 25-23. In the fifth and deciding game, the Saints came out strong and won convincingly by a score of 15-6. Emily Paton ’20 led the offensive attack for the Saints, recording 12 kills and 20 digs in the contest while Lila Feldmann ’20 recorded seven kills of her own. Captain Noor El-Baradie ’19 was crucial to the success of Paton and Feldmann as she handed out 25 assists on the afternoon to go along with 15 digs. Other key contributors were Katherine Gao ’18 and Miles Abney ’20, as Gao led the Saints with 32 digs while Abney chipped in ten.
With this victory, the Saints now move to 8-6 on the year and will look to defeat Sanford for the third time in the 2017 season on Friday evening at 5:00 p.m.
