2nd place finish as a team

The SAS boys varsity and JV cross-country teams each finished in second place in the 2017 DISC Championship race. Four varsity runners were awarded all-conference awards: Carson McCoy ’19 (10th), Blake Hundley ’20 (9th), Tad Scheibe ’19 (7th), and Alex Horgan ’18 (5th). The JV race was particularly exciting with the Saints team holding the lead early and losing by a narrow margin. The overall race winner, Will Gray ’18, was in a close contest with Tatnall throughout the race. Five JV runners were awarded medals for finishing among the top ten in their race: Ben Covell ’18 (10th), Trey Ketzner ’21 (9th), Dylan Torrance ’18 (6th), Christian Doucette ’18 (5th), Will Gray ’18 (1st). Ketzner and Andrew Mitchell ’21 had particularly impressive times, running the hilly Tatnall course faster than they had run on the flattest and fastest courses we ran all season.
