TOWER HILL PULLS AWAY IN SECOND HALF TO WIN 34-3
On Saturday afternoon of Parents Weekend, the Saints held Tower Hill in check in the first half, but ultimately lost 34-3 due to Tower Hill's strong run game in the second half. On the opening possession of the game the Saints were forced to punt. When the Saints defense went onto the field Tower Hill was able to move the ball into Saints territory until Arthur Potter ’19 forced a fumble and Adrian Watts ’20 pounced on it to give the ball back to the offense. The offense was not able to turn the turnover into points and Tower Hill marched down the field on the next possession to take a 6-0.
Later in the first quarter Lamar Duncan ’20 intercepted a Tower Hill pass and gave the Saints the ball in Tower Hill territory. The Saints were able to convert on a couple key third downs, but had to settle for a 26 yard field from John McKee ’18 to cut the score to 6-3. In the second quarter Tower Hill was able to punch the ball in the endzone a second time, and after a two point conversion took a 14-3 lead into half time.
The second half featured a lot of Tower Hill's power running game. The Saints offense showed a few flashes, but were never able to get their feet fully under them to get anything going in the second half. Tower Hill scored one more touchdown in the third quarter and two more in the 4th quarter to take home the win by a score of 34-3.
Theo Jaffe ’19 was a bright spot for the Saints on the day as he recorded 16 tackles, the high for any player in a single game this season. Potter put his mark on the game by recording 9 tackles and a forced fumble. Watts and Duncan each recorded a turnover for the Saints on defense with a fumble recovery and interception, respectively.
The Saints' next game is this coming Saturday at Wilmington Friends at 2:30 p.m.
