In its penultimate game of the season, the boys' JV basketball team lost to Tatnall 39-19. The loss dashed any hopes of the first conference championship since 1998. The visiting Hornets used a decisive 4th quarter run to put away a close game as the Cardinals trailed by 2 at half and 7 after 3 periods.

The JV boys built an early lead at Sanford School. Apparently, however, the lead was quite surmountable as the Cardinals lost the game by a 53-31 final. After leading by 4 after the first and trailing by 5 at half, the Saints were unable to respond to a 16 point 3rd quarter by the homestanding Warriors.

In perhaps its most complete game of the season, the boys JV squadron earned a difficult victory on the road at Wilmington Christian School. The 42-29 win featured stellar defense, a potent offensive attack and a resiliency not often seen this year.

Senior Cinda Caldwell scored the only basket of OT with 13 seconds remaining to propel St. Andrew's to a 40-38 heart stopping victory over visiting Wilmington Christian.

St. Andrew’s and Wilmington Friends played a very even first half, but the Saints pulled away in the third quarter and made their free throws down the stretch in order to put the game out of reach.

Girls finish with win over Hill, 8-1

The Girls Varsity squash team concluded their season with a strong victory against Hill School, 8-1. Their record of 13 - 5 is the second best in the history of the program, after last season's 16 - 5 mark. Highlights for the season include 3rd place at the Flanagan Tournament; 4th place in Division 2 of the Nationals, with a 19th in the country ranking; and the Team Sportsmanship Award, voted by the opposing teams at the MASA Tournament. On Saturday, February 13, the varsity wrestlers competed in the DISC Wrestling Championship. The Saints had a great day of competition, putting six wrestlers in the finals and coming away with one 3rd place finish, four 2nd place finishes, and we had two wrestlers crowned DISC CHAMPIONS.
