Instrumental Music
St. Andrew's students participate in a wide variety of instrumental music ensembles and perform at many special events throughout the year culminating with the Arts Weekend performances in May.
The Orchestra, which gives three or four concerts each year, is the largest instrumental group and includes over 50 musicians, including faculty and staff. Small chamber groups also form both independently and as part of the Chamber Music class.
The Jazz Ensemble, the school's big band, is a 20-piece outfit complete with vocalists. Members of this group rehearse regularly and perform both as a large ensemble and in smaller combos as they develop their skills in jazz improvisation.
Lastly, small rock bands form independently and share their talents at coffee houses and open mike nights on some weekends.
Private lessons are available for all orchestral instruments in addition to voice and piano as scheduling allows.
