Choral Music and Voice

Singing voices are heard often at St. Andrew's, both in chapel services on Wednesdays and Sundays and in concert, throughout the year. Choral ensembles sing both formally and informally at School Meeting and at special times on Friday evenings and occasions such as Arts Weekend.

The Chorale is open to all students able to commit to rehearsal time. Currently the Chorale includes nearly 40 voices and performs a range of literature, from classical to gospel.

The Choral Scholars provides students the opportunity to audition and, if selected, work more closely with 14 to 18 other voices. Rehearsals are scheduled as part of the academic curriculum and at other times in the evening. The Choral Scholars perform at special events on campus and has numerous singing engagements off campus throughout the year. Every second year Choral Scholars performs in a week-long international tour. In March 2006, they travel throughout southern Spain, singing in city cathedrals and village churches in Andalucia.

St. Andrew's a cappella group, the Noxontones, performs at special concerts during the year and at Arts Weekend. The group rehearses each week.

Private voice lessons are also available as scheduling allows.
