MS, Lehigh University
Kristin Honsel is a native of the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. After earning her undergraduate degree in elementary education from Penn State University in 1994, Kristin began her career in education in conjunction with earning her Master’s degree in Educational Technology from Lehigh University. Her first nine years were spent as an elementary classroom teacher in both public and private schools in Pennsylvania. Upon moving to Los Angeles, she worked as an integrated technology specialist in a K-8 school.
After having her daughter Zoey, Kristin and her family moved back east where she began her boarding school career by running a girls’ dorm and advising students. Since then she has worked in admission and gone back into the classroom to teach a community living and health class. She also continued her work as a student and club advisor and a dorm faculty member. Kristin’s side projects consistently draw her towards service and the environment and she is excited to be at St. Andrew’s where the commitment to both is clear. She also loves to garden, refinish and restore second hand treasures, craft and bake.
Kristin lives on campus with her husband Jason, Director of College Counseling, their daughter, Zoey, and loyal hounds, Ellie and Jethro.
