Mr. Matthew "Matt" Evan Wolinski
Matt is a native of Middletown and a class of 2000 graduate from St. Andrew’s School. While at St. Andrew's, he served as Co-President, graduated Magna cum Laude and received the Malcolm Ford Award.
Matt spent his freshman year in the University of Delaware Honors program before transferring to Georgetown University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Government with minors in Music and Theology. He was inducted into the Theta Alpha Kappa Theology Honors Society.
During his time in Washington, Matt was involved in student government and community relations at Georgetown. By senior year, he worked full time as a paralegal specializing in insurance litigation. He later joined the alumni relations office at Sidwell Friends School.
In 2005, Matt returned to Middletown to teach middle school social studies at St. Anne’s Episcopal School. He taught a variety of subject matter in U.S. and world history as well as religion to first, third, fifth and eighth graders. In 2007, he was selected as a fellow at the Klingenstein Summer Institute.
He also is active in local politics, having managed a successful state house campaign and served on the local democratic committee.
Throughout the years, Matt remained active as a St. Andrew’s alumnus, rising to Vice-President of the Alumni Association and serving as class agent. In his spare time, Matt enjoys canoeing the Appoquinimink watershed, local trivia competitions, bluegrass, and cooking over an open flame.
Matt lives in Middletown with his his wife, Michelle, and their daughters, Julia and Claire.
